About the Website Outage of May 4
We pride ourselves in customer service and uptime, but yesterday we were not at our best.
About the Website Outage of May 4

Like most small companies, we always strive to make ourselves better than the big guys.  Big companies have big budgets, which means they can usually set up robust, redundant systems that should never fail.  Small companies generally have more flexibility, and can be more responsive to their customers and make changes quickly when the market dictates.

But being small also sometimes means not being able to anticipate every contingency, and all of our customers suffered through that with us yesterday when our primary marketing websites www.worldtrackingsolutions.com and www.sageplan.com went offline for about 20 hours.  The issue was a technical one that should never happen, so when it did it took a lot of time for our technical staff, in coordination with our web hosting service's staff, to sort it out and get everything back online.

One lesson learned from the outage is that many of our current customers were not aware that the tracking server is a completely separate system from our marketing websites, and the tracking system was completely unaffected by the marketing website outage.  We will be adding a direct link to the tracking system website http://mytracksite.net and encouraging our customers to bookmark and use that direct link.

So far the majority of feedback we have received from our valued customers regarding the outage has been understanding, a testament to the goodwill our service record has built up over the years.  But we understand that there are a lot of choices out there, and we intend to work very hard to figure out how to keep this particular issue from happening again in the future.
